Sculpting the Figure in Clay with Paris Alexander

Saturday & Sunday, May 20-21

Working from live models award winning sculptor Paris Alexander will instruct students in the techniques of working in terra-cotta, a classical sculptural clay. While noting basic anatomical reference points students will produce a series of small, figurative sculptures. This course will focus on rendering anatomically-balanced and lively clay “sketches.” The sculptures will then be dried, and fired in a kiln (allow approx. 3 weeks for the works to dry and be fired), creating lasting works of art.

*This class will get messy, and participants are welcome to bring lunch.
